Waterfowl
I currently own a great selection of waterfowl, all my birds are unrelated and are from all over the province, some are also from BC and as far as Quebec! Some require an Avicultural Permit. If you are interested in any of my Exotic Birds, please e-mail me with any inquiries, questions or comments!
Here are the species I have:
Mandarin Ducks
The adult male is a striking and unmistakable bird. It has a red bill, large white crescent above the eye and reddish face and "whiskers". The breast is purple with two vertical white bars, and the flanks ruddy, with two orange "sails" at the back. The female is similar to female Wood Duck, with a white eye-ring and stripe running back from the eye, but is paler below, has a small white flank stripe, and a pale tip to its bill. In the wild, Mandarin Ducks breed in densely wooded areas near shallow lakes, marshes or ponds. They nest in cavities in trees close to water. Shortly after the ducklings hatch, their mother flies to the ground and coaxes the ducklings to leap from the nest.

I currently own; 1 Normal Pair, 1 White/Normal Pair, 1 White Pair, 2 young (07) hatch ducklings left (Pair)
Wood Ducks
The adult male has distinctive multi-coloured iridescent plumage and red eyes. The female, less colourful, has a white eye-ring and a whitish throat. Both adults have crested heads. When swimming, wood ducks bob their head back and forth in a jerking motion, which makes them easy to spot. Females typically lay between 9 and 14 eggs. However, if nesting boxes are placed too close together, females may lay eggs in the nests of their neighbours. They nest in cavities in trees close to water.

Once hatched the females and sometimes the males will attend to their parental guidance of the young ducklings
